Fertilization and Weed Control for Greener Grass

Nothing says summer quite like walking barefoot through cool, fresh-cut grass. To keep your grass flourishing all summer long, Maple Leaf Inc utilizes a six-step program to keep your lawn lush and healthy even during the harsh summer months.

At Maple Leaf Inc, we have state-certified turf applicators, and we have pesticide certifications as well. We use only the best fertilizers for the region to make sure your lawn has what it needs to thrive.

The Maple Leaf Six-Step Traditional Lawn Care Program

Each round of our program is designed to strengthen your turf and promote ongoing growth. Find out more about each step here!

Round One

Sulfur-coated granular fertilizer with Dimension pre-emergent crabgrass control is used. Application occurs in the early spring (from April to mid-May) to control crabgrass emergence and to provide spring green up from the long winter. Spot spraying of early emerging broadleaf weeds is completed as needed.

Round Two

In the late spring or early summer (from mid-May to mid-June), we use a liquid fertilizer and a blanket application for broadleaf weed control. This application will help strengthen the turf and get control of dandelion populations.

Round Three

This summer application typically happens in July. It promotes good green color and robust root development while aiding in drought-stress tolerance. This is completed with a sulfur-coated granulated fertilizer and spot spraying for weeds.

Round Four

This round includes a liquid fertilizer and broadleaf weed control. We complete this application in mid-August or mid-September to aid the turf after the stress of the scorching summer heat.

Round Five

This round also occurs in August or September, and it serves many of the same purposes. With a liquid fertilizer, the application will strengthen your turf after the summer heat. Broadleaf weed control is also used.

Round Six

Finally, in October, we apply the sixth round. This is a sulfur-coated granular fertilizer that promotes good fall root development to prepare the turf for winter. We will also complete any spot spraying for weeds as needed.

Your plants are under constant threat. Insects and disease could quickly decimate your plants if you don't take action. We recommend at least two treatments for the best results. You can count on Maple Leaf Inc to come up with a plan just for your plants.

Our treatment incorporates three sprays to control insects like Japanese beetles, sawflies, tent caterpillars, cankerworms, aphids, scales, mites, leaf miners, and webworms. Diseases we target include anthracnose, rust, apple scab, leaf spot, and powdery mildew.
